Influencers for restaurants and cafés in Morocco: budget and formats

For a restaurant or café in Morocco, the formats that work are the venue-visit Reel, stories on opening day, the TikTok tasting video and the UGC video for your ads. Based on October 2026 market ranges, a Reel costs about 300 to 2,400 MAD from a nano creator and 2,400 to 8,000 MAD from a micro creator. Measure with a promo code.

Which influencer formats work for a restaurant or café?

Customers choose a restaurant with their eyes: the dish, the room, the price, the address. A short video shows all of that in under a minute.

FormatWhat it doesNano (under 10,000 followers)Micro (10,000 to 50,000)
Venue-visit Reel on InstagramShows the place, two or three dishes, the mood and the address300 to 2,400 MAD2,400 to 8,000 MAD
Stories on opening dayCreates urgency: we are here, opening hours, today's offer100 to 600 MAD per story600 to 2,000 MAD per story
TikTok tasting videoFirst-bite reaction, price on screen, honest opinion300 to 2,150 MAD2,150 to 7,200 MAD
UGC video for your adsA video delivered for your own accounts and ads, not posted by the creator150 to 1,200 MAD1,200 to 4,000 MAD

These are October 2026 market ranges. A story is worth about 40% of an Instagram post, a Reel about 1.6 times, a TikTok video about 0.9 times an Instagram Reel and a UGC video about 0.8 times a post. The detail is on Instagram rates and TikTok rates.

What budget should a restaurant or café plan?

For a local business, several small creators from your city usually do more than one big national account: their followers live near you. Here are two plans worked out with median market prices.

Example 1, a budget of 1,000 to 3,000 MAD: a café opening in Fez.

ItemRangeMedian price
1 venue-visit Reel by a nano food creator from Fez300 to 2,400 MAD≈1,100 MAD
3 opening-day stories by a second nano creator300 to 1,800 MAD≈900 MAD
Total600 to 4,200 MAD≈2,000 MAD, plus the meals you offer

Example 2, a budget of 5,000 to 10,000 MAD: a Casablanca restaurant launching a new menu.

ItemRangeMedian price
1 Reel by a micro food creator from Casablanca2,400 to 8,000 MAD≈4,800 MAD
1 TikTok tasting video by a nano creator300 to 2,150 MAD≈1,000 MAD
3 stories on launch weekend by a nano creator300 to 1,800 MAD≈900 MAD
2 UGC videos for your ads300 to 2,400 MAD≈1,100 MAD
Total3,300 to 14,350 MAD≈7,800 MAD

How do I choose a food creator in my city?

  1. Open food creators and filter by city, for example food creators in Casablanca.
  2. Watch three or four recent videos: light, sound, pace and how they talk about prices.
  3. Ask for a screenshot of their insights: most of the audience should live in your city or visit it often.
  4. Work out the engagement rate and be wary of a sudden jump in followers.
  5. Check they have filmed restaurants before without turning every visit into a recited ad.

Then create a free account to see contact details. You contact the creator on WhatsApp, by phone or by email, and you pay them directly: Kreators takes no commission.

How do I measure visits that came from an influencer?

Without measurement you cannot tell which creator filled the room. Give each one their own way to be tracked.

  • A promo code per creator, for example REEL10 for a free dessert, which staff note at the till.
  • A QR code in the video or on a poster that opens WhatsApp with a ready-made message. Create the link with the WhatsApp link generator.
  • A simple question when people book: how did you hear about us?
  • A deadline on the offer (two weeks), so visits are easy to count.

Example: you pay 2,000 MAD and 40 customers use the code within two weeks. Each visit cost you 50 MAD, to compare with your average bill.

What should I offer during Ramadan: ftour and shour?

Ramadan is a big moment for food businesses: ftour menus, shour deals, pastry boxes for Eid. In 2026, food was the top advertising sector in the first ten days of the holy month, with 39.3% of spend, according to the Moroccan observatory OMLI (Les Impériales).

Post food content after ftour, when people are on their phones, and book creators four to six weeks ahead. The full timeline is in the Ramadan campaign guide.

What goes in the brief, and what should I avoid?

What to show in the video:

  • The signature dish and its price, readable on screen.
  • The address, the neighbourhood and a well-known landmark.
  • Opening hours and how to book: WhatsApp or phone.
  • The offer or promo code, with its deadline.
  • What sets you apart: terrace, view, live music, family area.

What to avoid:

  • A word-for-word script: let the creator speak the way they usually do.
  • Over-the-top reactions to a dish that does not deserve them: disappointed customers will say so in the comments.
  • Filming other customers without their consent.
  • Hiding the partnership. Instagram requires the paid partnership label and a tag of the venue, which needs a professional account. TikTok requires the commercial content disclosure setting to be turned on.

Example first message: Hello, we are opening a café in Maârif and would like a venue-visit Reel on Saturday lunchtime. What is your rate for one Reel and three stories?

Questions? Answered

Is a free meal enough to pay an influencer?

Not always. The meal covers the visit, not the filming or editing. Some nano creators accept a swap, but if you expect a Reel on a set date, budget a fee and write down what is expected.

Instagram or TikTok for a restaurant?

Both. In late 2025, according to DataReportal, Meta's ad tools counted 15.1 million Instagram users in Morocco, and TikTok 16.7 million adult users. Start with the platform where your chosen creator has the most local audience.

How many creators for an opening?

Two or three creators from your city, posting in the same week, make it feel as if everyone is talking about you. One big national account reaches many people who will never come.

How far ahead should I contact a creator?

Allow one to two weeks for a simple visit, and four to six weeks for Ramadan or a big opening.

Can we reuse the video in our ads?

Yes, if it is agreed. Usage rights: state in the quote where the video will run (organic, ads) and for how long; use in paid advertising is negotiated separately.
