How to become a UGC creator in Morocco: portfolio, gear, prices and clients

To become a UGC creator in Morocco, you do not need many followers: film 3 to 5 sample videos on your phone, vertical 9:16, gather them in a portfolio and pitch them to online shops and businesses. As of October 2026, the market range for a UGC video is about 0.8 times that of an Instagram post; ad usage rights are to be set in the quote.

What is a UGC creator?

A UGC creator films videos that look like a real customer made them: an unboxing, a review, a demo. The client posts them on their accounts, on their website or as ads. You do not have to post them on your own account.

You are paid for the content, not for your audience, so UGC is open to you from day one. To see what clients expect, also read our UGC guide for clients.

How do I build a UGC portfolio with 3 to 5 videos?

  1. Use products you already own: a skincare item, a grocery product, a phone accessory.
  2. Change format with each video: unboxing, face-to-camera review, demo, before and after, “3 reasons to buy it”.
  3. Keep to 15 to 30 seconds, vertical 9:16, with a hook in the first three seconds.
  4. Add captions and shoot at least one video in Darija and one in French.
  5. Offer two hooks for the same video: that is what clients test in ads.
  6. Put everything on one page: your Kreators profile, with your UGC packages, does the job well.

What gear do I need on a small budget?

NeedBudget optionWhy
ImageYour phone, rear camera, clean lensOften sharper than the front camera
LightA window in front of you, then a small LED lampGood light matters more than the phone model
SoundA wired or wireless clip-on micPeople forgive average images, not crackling sound
StabilityA small tripod with a phone mountSteady shots that are easy to redo
EditingA mobile editing app with automatic captionsCuts, on-screen text, captions

Shoot vertically. TikTok recommends 9:16 for its video ads, at a resolution of at least 540 × 960 pixels: filming in 1080 × 1920 gives you room to spare. Export as MP4, a format TikTok accepts.

How much should I charge for a UGC video in Morocco?

As of October 2026, the market range for a UGC video is about 0.8 times that of an Instagram post. Since UGC is not priced on audience, use the tiers as a ladder: you start at the bottom and move up with experience and ads that worked.

BenchmarkInstagram postUGC video (≈ 0.8×)UGC median
Nano200 to 1,500 MAD150 to 1,200 MAD≈ 550 MAD
Micro1,500 to 5,000 MAD1,200 to 4,000 MAD≈ 2,400 MAD
Mid-tier5,000 to 18,000 MAD4,000 to 14,500 MAD≈ 8,000 MAD

Example: you are starting out and offer 3 videos at 800 MAD each, so 2,400 MAD for the bundle. Ad usage rights, meaning running the video as a Meta or TikTok ad, are billed separately or for a limited period: length, channels and price are to be set in the quote.

On TikTok, a client can also sponsor a video posted on your account through Spark Ads, with your authorisation, whose duration can be set. Instagram offers partnership ads for the same purpose. Either way it is ad usage, and it is negotiated.

To place your account, work out the price of a post with the rate calculator, then multiply by 0.8.

Where do I find UGC clients?

  • Moroccan online shops that already advertise on Instagram and TikTok: they refresh their videos often.
  • Businesses in your city: cosmetics, restaurants, home appliances, clothing.
  • Agencies looking for UGC creators for several clients at once.
  • The Kreators directory: pick the UGC niche and publish your packages; clients browsing UGC creators contact you and pay you directly.

How it works is explained on the UGC page. For the first message, reuse the examples in the paid collaborations guide.

Why is Darija an advantage in UGC?

A video in Darija, filmed at home by someone who looks like the customer, feels more credible than a translated ad. For a shop selling in Morocco, that is your edge over videos produced elsewhere.

  • Offer a Darija version and a French version of the same video.
  • Keep everyday words such as «واعر» or «مزيان بزاف»: they sound truer than a script read aloud.
  • Caption in the ad's language for people watching with the sound off.

How do I deliver a UGC video?

  1. Confirm the brief in writing: product, three points to show, length, language, number of revisions.
  2. Deliver the edited video and, if agreed, the raw footage and a version without captions.
  3. Name files clearly: client_product_hook1_v1.mp4.
  4. Send the invoice with the delivery, for example with the auto-entrepreneur invoice template.

Questions? Answered

Do I need followers to do UGC?

No. The client pays for the video, not your audience. A portfolio of 3 to 5 good videos is enough to pitch your first clients.

Do I have to show my face?

Not necessarily. Hands, a voice-over and product shots work in many categories. Face-to-camera is still useful for reviews and testimonials.

How long does it take to deliver a UGC video?

State a clear lead time in the quote, for example five to ten days after the product arrives, revisions included.

Who owns the video?

You grant a usage right for a set period and set channels: the client's accounts, website, ads. Write them into the quote or the contract.

Do I need a legal status to invoice UGC?

Yes, to invoice a business. The auto-entrepreneur status is the simplest way to start: see [the status guide](/guides/auto-entrepreneur-status-for-creators-morocco).
